1. ok
They once toured with Let's Active, whose lead singer was Mitch Easter. A band led by an Easter playing with Bunnymen, get it?

2. Well, let's see...

At one point in my life I was convinced that someday Ian McCulloch and Dave Vanian from The Damned were going to have a fight to the death over who got to run away with me. I thought maybe if Richard Lloyd from Television was sober enough that day he might join in. Alas, it was not to be. :(

And now I have "Lips Like Sugar" as my ringtone.

And using "The Killing Moon" in Donnie Darko was a stroke of genius.

5. That's my favorite.
They've been playing that lately on XM radio. I had that tape years ago, and now I'd like to get the CD.

12. Get their greatest hits CD -- so many amazing songs on it. I think
it is called "Songs to Learn and Sing." I have it somewhere...need to pop that baby in the cd player!

4. I LOVE them!
When I was in my early teens, Ian McCulloch and Robert Smith were the sexiest men on the planet to me. Yummy.

My SO got it at a concert, and it draws some strange looks.

9. Agreed-- here's The Killing Moon
Under blue moon I saw you
So soon you'll take me
Up in your arms
Too late to beg you or cancel it
Though I know it must be the killing time
Unwillingly mine

Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

In starlit nights I saw you
So cruelly you kissed me
Your lips a magic world
Your sky all hung with jewels
The killing moon
Will come too soon

Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

Under blue moon I saw you
So soon you'll take me
Up in your arms
Too late to beg you or cancel it
Though I know it must be the killing time
Unwillingly mine

Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him
You give yourself to him

La la la la la...

Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

La la la la la...

Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

La la la la la...

14. I've ALMOST got them memorized
my band does a cover of this tune, and I usually "cheat" and look at the lyrics when we play it. However, it's a great excuse to whip out the electric 12-string.

10. should I throw them "Over the Wall" to you?
I'm rebuilding my collection of 80s vinyl after chucking them inadvisedly while moving crosstown. Sigh.

E&B were among my first purchases, along with Tom Verlaine and Television "Marquee Moon"

still looking for Devoto's Magazine. I guess it's rare. Again sigh.

Echo And The Bunnymen - Rescue

If I said I'd lost my way
Would yoy sympathise
Could you sympathise
I'm jumbled up
May be I'm losing my touch
But you know
I didn't have it anyway
Won't you come on down to my
Won't you come on down to my rescue
Things are wrong
Things are going wrong
Can you tell that in a song
Don't you know what I want anymore
First I want a kiss
And then I want it all
Won't you come on down to my
Won't you come on down to my rescue
Rescue, rescue, rescue...
Things are wrong
Things are going wrong
Can you tell that in a song
Losing sense of those harder things
Is this the blues I'm singing
Is this the blues I'm singing
Is this the blues I'm singing
Is this the blues I'm singing
Rescue
Is this the blues I'm singing

15. Anybody else have the new one, "Siberia?"
It's not up there with the classic first four, but it ain't half bad, either.

YMMV.
