3. Yeah, sometimes he looks like Cheney, too.
A thinner, more compassionate version of Cheney, mind you.

LOL.

4. Depends on which part of Florida.
It would have to be a red town.

7. I wonder if Palpatine ever got any (and yeah, I have no life)
I was watching the intercut Vader/Obi-Wan, Sidious/Yoda battles in ROTS the other day, and I got to thinking: is Anakin the only one, amongst these demigods, who actually kissed a woman?

I mean, this guy used the Force to inseminate Anakin's mother (from across the galaxy, no less)--he obviously can't be bothered with the little things.

10. No, that was purely the fault of "Jenna the Hut".
Needless to say, after crushing 3 of his vertebrae and cracking a rib, Jenna was not long for this world.

11. Ah, so that explains slave Leia
The Emperor got Jenna, so Jabba had his way with Palps' granddaughter.

The saga is finally complete.

12. Well, really, Jenna got lit up.
Hutt blubber is a great conductor of electricity. It didn't take much of a zapping before she was BBQ.

Ok. These are bad.

I am bored. That must explain this. Yeah.

15. This is nothing
I had a three hour debate over the phone with a fellow geek defending the circumstances of Padme's death.

I read Goethe's FAUST just to compare the thematic elements with those found in ROTS. Sad thing is, I preferred Lucas's flick.

16. Do you think Palpatine had anything to do with it?
I think he made Anakin dream about both his mother and Padme's deaths. I wonder if he needled into her head and made her die.

Probably not, but I just wonder.

17. I highly doubt it; here's my supposition
Although a great number of fans found Padme's death offputting, it actually makes perfect sense when reflecting on the previous two episodes.

Remember all that talk about symbiosis in Episode I (the Naboo/Gungans; midicholorians/host body)?

And Padme's confession to Anakin in "Clones": "I've been dying a little each day since you came back into my life."

By the time "Sith" rolls along, husband and wife become tethered to one another in an unfathomable way. Just as Leia channeled Luke's pain at the end of "Empire," Padme was open to all the torment suffered by Anakin as he lay on the operating table. As soon as the mask is fitted onto the Jedi's charred face, and the first breath is taken, the last vestiges of Anakin die. And Vader is born. And so goeth Padme (in the subsequent scene, no less).

In essence, Padme doesn't die of a broken heart, she merely shares the fate of her husband. "What affects one affects the other."

It would only be proper--in the 2007 DVD superset--for Lucas to place her ghost body next to her husband's at the end of "Jedi." (And throw in Liam Neeson while he's at it.)

P.S. I'm not sure about the dreams. Unless Palpatine somehow ordered the Sandpeople to kidnap the mother, I would assume those premonitions were outside of his control. But since he knew about Anakin's quandary, it stands to reason he tapped into his mind (which makes sense, since Anakin was his son).
