What's your favorite comfort food?
<rationalize> While I realize that eating due to stress, etc. is an unhealthy attitude, some foods lend themselves to comforting more than others </rationalize>

I personally like rice with butter, milk, and sugar. As a matter of fact, I'm eating it right now.

2. Fresh bread, warm from the oven, with a light coating of butter.
Served with a bowl of thick hearty soup, almost any kind will do.

12. oh i do love a good meat loaf with a side of mac&cheese or stuffing &
cinnamon apples or fried plantains.

Or, i may just go with a good cup of cafe-au-lait, and a slice of toast with melted swiss cheese on top...

Or, sometimes just a 30cents bag of Cheeto's is just the right COMFORT or tuneup tool my body or emotions need.

22. Mmmm....gumbo.
There's a newish "soul food" place in Philadelphia - Geechee Girl Rice Cafe which makes amazing gumbo. It's a little on the mild side, but of course they have hot sauce available for those of us who want to customize the hotness.

Local choice: Mushroom cheese steak

Out-of-town choice: biscuits and sausage gravy

Most-frequent-choice: rice with chicken gravy

32. You can't get decent biscuits and gravy in Philadelphia
Never had it before almost freezing to death one dawn at the Grand Canyon. I was literally shaking in the booth of the restaurant there, trying to warm up, and they looked like the warmest, heartiest thing on the menu. Have been a fan ever since, but am frequently disappointed by the gravy ("hey, is that little fleck a sausage, or a pepper flake?")

Forget getting them anywhere near home, though!
