Anyone tried the at-home Micro Dermabrasion Kits?
What did you think? Which one did you use?

1. Not the kits.

But I bought two of the washcloths.

They work (not miracles, obviously, but definite improvement), but you have to use them every day for a long time. A long time being (for me) 4-6 monhs.

I would recommend them.

4. Are you nuts? There's NOTHING wrong with your skin.
Don't be sanding it, OK?

And on a night when I can use some cheering.

Thanks, BI.

(PS: I wasn't just trying to flatter her. I've seen YVRg's face, and it looks fine. No grinding necessary.)

12. You're so sweet
I'm not so much worried about wrinkles, but I have very dry skin, especially in the winter. What I really want to do is give my face a good 'polish' and keep the flaky skin away. Moisturizer just isn't enough.

13. Take some essential fatty acids
like evening primrose oil (good for PMS), fish oil, flaxseed oil, a combination of omega 3-6-9, or coconut oil.

You could get away with exfoliating a couple times a week, but too much and you strip away protective oils on your skin, which dry it out even more.

5. I used the Loreal ReFinish one
The scrub is very gentle and the follow up moisturizer is really soothing and nice.

Great results - I now use it 2-3 times a week and am a firm believer now.

You can also use the St Ives Apricot scrub - it's a very nice product, too.

6. yes
i've used dr. brandt's which did nothing

and philosophy's great face which did v. little

the reality is that a microbrasion just isn't a substitute for the real thing, sorry

and a lunch time peel, even if done by your dermatologist, is equally a waste of time

they want to string us out with these mini peels that do nothing because it brings us back week after week and there is little chance of side effect (hence no liability) but equally little chance of real improvement

insist on genuine dermabrasion if that's what you need

if wrinkles could be cured by something in a jar no woman in america would have wrinkles

9. But wrinkles are a mark of character.
I like to see some laugh lines on a woman's face.

But that's just me.

(Not to say that if someone has acne scars or the like, that she shouldn't do whatever she wants to in order to feel better about herself...)

11. The Loreal ReNoviste is really good
It's actually a peel instead of micro dermabrasion, but I've seen really good results in my skin with it. I was surprised that it really makes a noticeable difference.
