I have my windows open. There's a delightful breeze.
I think I'll go have a beer out on my porch after I feed the animals.

I'll bet everyone is blissfully happy with the weather right now, right?

2 is not a temperature. It's the losing team's score in a hockey game.

7. Nope, you're still not going to make me jealous.
I was in Florida in December several times and it was still too damn warm and humid, middle of the winter or not.

By the way, since you're into health stuff, you may want to consider the statistics that show people living longer in places that have real seasons (not just hot and hotter). It's the truth. The theory is that when your body adapts to the changing seasons (easpecailly going from hot to cold), it's like getting a whole-body workout, and one that lasts a long time.

8. Ah, I seek not to make folks jealous
I'm just being a bit of an ass, what with the numerous weather threads.

However, you pose an interesting point about health and changing seasons. I'll bet that you're right though (no, I'll not demand a link a la GD). Having been born in Plymouth, MA and spending my life through most of my teen years in that area, I think I'm better for it.

Florida does have "seasons" but it's just not such a huge variety. We have "cold enough", "pleasant", "warm", "hot", "damn hot" and "what? am I in friggin hell? hot".

November-December is wonderful weather here, IMO.

12. "Cold enough?" What's that in Florida, 75 degrees?
Funny how people acclimate. My grandfather lived 80 years in Vermont, then moved to Florida. I visited him down there two years later, and he was bitching about it being cold. It was about 70. In February.

27. You would blame her, wouldn't you.
I'd likely do the same under the circumstances...

It's a guy thing, isn't it? As Lenny Bruce said, it's kind of a universal excuse for guys: "I couldn't help it; I got hot."

And there's another great part of that particular monologue that goes: "Let the chicken make your dinner!"

If you're not familiar with Lenny Bruce, you should be. You'd like him, I know it.

35. And surprisingly on this one, because you're so much younger
than I am. Lenny Bruce was part and parcel of us children of the 1950s and '60s; it's damn good to hear that people your age know about him.

I guess that real humor, and real truth, are timeless.

So you know "Let the chicken cook ya dinnah," yes?

Sure it's once every ten years or so and it doesn't stick but it's snow damn it! Nah, we know what winter is here, we go up to the mountains to experience it for some crazy reason and usually pay for the privilege.

40. But it's cold!
It's not like I moved here from someplace with real cold and got used to the climate here. I'm from Sacramento. I think 105 is a perfectly reasonable summertime temperature, I'll go tow my son in his trailer in that sort of heat. I wear pants when it's 85 and long sleeves when it's below 80. When it's 33, I sleep under three blankets with polartec ski pants on.

To me, it's fucking cold out right now

31. Cool. Nothing like a little kid, looking like the Michelin Man
in his / her big old puffy snowsuit, staggering around the yard in a foot of snow, falling on his / her face every six steps, building a "snow man" that resembles nothing more than a lump with a couple of sticks protruding from it...

Treasure these moments, MAP; they don't last forever.

blame them? They have to wait through the 45 minutes of getting into the snow suit beforehand, after all.

Kids are great. Little kids are greatest of all. Enjoy it while you can.
