And we're going to be without heat and hot water until God knows when...I think we may be leaving for the night. And it's icy and snowy.

1. Yikes!
Why did the pipes bust? Why is your heat out?

2. Apartment above and below them is vacant.
They have cement on two sides and apparently they didn't have the heat turned on in these apartments. The apartments in that location tend to be cold. It's kinda nuts. Luckily the manager is putting them up in a hotel for the night and they are moving to a different apartment.
Oh and there's no heat because it's water heating and cooling.

4. Then the manager should get you a room, too.
It's too damned cold to go without heat. :scared:

6. This building is really on the hot side.
It's actually comfortable in here tonight. If it gets too bad, we'll be headed to a friend's house.

3. Oh no! Duckie!

Did the pipes freeze? That's awful. Our hot water heater sprang an awful leak not too long ago and our whole house flooded. It was awful, but at least they replaced the hot water heater immediately (don't ask about the carpet, though - stiiiinky!), so no cold showers.

I hope things get fixed soon! At least you are newlyweds and can snuggle up to each other for warmth!!

;)

5. Great Scott! That sounds pretty cold!
I'd leave too. It's a bit much to be without heat this time of year!
