1. Use a Flat-Felled seam
Uses a double type of over-seam

Here's a site for you about sewing many types of seams:

http://www.ehow.com/how_8585_sew-basic-seams.html

Flat-Felled Seams

Steps:
1. Use a flat-felled seam for garments that will receive a lot of wear, such as children's clothing or jeans.

2. Sew a plain seam and press it open with an iron.

3. Press both layers of fabric to one side and trim the inner fabric layer to 1/8 inch.

4. Press the top layer of fabric under 1/4 inch and stitch this folded edge to the garment.

5. Keep stitches as straight as possible, because the stitches will be seen on the right side of the garment.

And this site for demo pic:

4. I'd had the front and back joined at the shoulder seams + the sleeves in
On basically what were two seperate shirts to that point.

Then I layed the shirts out together.

I had sewed the ends of the sleeves togther by way of the cuff overlap. (That thin bit of fabric covering the slit in the sleeve above the cuff)

Then I sewed what would become the lining together at side seam and the sleeve.

That's where my brain froze momentarily.

But I did figure out.

I pulled the lining and outer garment away. (still attached at the cuff area though) and sewed from underarm to cuff at both sides...

--Then pulled the sleeves back over the sleeve linings.
So the seam edges are inside the two layers.

--Then I freed the side seams of the outer garment enough to sew them from underarm to lower hem

Thanks for responding. :hi:

6. Yes, but it's very satisfying.
All in all. :)

Do you do window treatments as a business or hobby?

I'm definately still in hobby mode at this point.
