Tonight, I have officially "retired" from the nightlife scene!
Edited on Sun Dec-11-05 04:12 AM by Cascadian
Since about 1986, I have been going out, beers, booze, and babes, going to watch bands, and boogeying my butt off in the bars and clubs of Washington state and California, I have decided to call it a night and "retire". The cyst in my pancreas back in April which forced me to quit drinking and this stupid smoking ban here in Washington has forced me to come to this decision. I have had a good run and it's time to just hang it up. The smoking ban was the big catalyst behind my decision. It just won't be what it used to be. I don't feel the need to go out to bars and clubs so much anymore. Besides, I am going to be 37 in a few weeks. I am old!

If somebody invites me out or if I am going on my road trips to Vegas or Portland, I will go out but now it's time to step aside.

All good things come to an end! Good night!

1. 37 is a far cry from "old," just so you know.
Sending you good health vibes, Cascadian. :hi:

2. Thank you.
I guess things have just not been the same since I got sick plus I am at the point in my life that clubbing and bar crawling just isn't what it used to be. It's like "been there, done that." Time for new adventures and new pursuits I think.

Once again, thank you for your good wishes!

3. That's about the right age to start entertaining at home anyway

Drinks at bars & clubs are way too expensive, the music's too loud..

Start a "party Club" with your pals & take turns entertaining.. Everyone brings a new person every time, and your circle of friends expands and when you are not host, it's waaaay cheaper than going bar hopping :)

4. I don't mind loud music really.

It's not that at all. I am old but not that old! There are reasons to why I have just decided to pack it in besides what I mentioned in the posting. It's just not the way it used to be. People change and things change. Nothing truly lasts forever.

I do like the idea of simply having get togethers. Should have one now that I am settled in my new apartment.

5. I am actually looking forward to being a homebody.
I do also think that more laws are going to be passed in the future to curtail people's fun and "bad habits". It may not happen now but soon.

Just my take!
