The Cat came back!

Seriously....the cat that "adopted us" the other day, walked all the way from Pleasanton to San Ramon!!!!! We found a good home for him, and he liked them. They were great, but when he went out one morning, he hightailed it to our house...

Any ideas on how to keep Ferdinand nee Mr. Ripley at his REAL home???

1. Cats are notoriously independent in this regard.

Patience, and some time to bond with the new family are all that he needs. :) Personally I think it's a wonderful thing to be so deeply loved by a cat.

2. He's picked you

If he walked back, he's decided yours is his real home. You could try to out-stubborn the cat (good luck!) or you can give in but in either case he'll win.

4. He must be kept indoors...

...or otherwise caged. I'd advocate that, anyway, but since he knows the way to your place, I don't see how anything less would keep him from making the trip again.
