The Christmas card letters annoy me to no end.
They enlighten us to the activities of people we only hear from once a year, and even then don;t really care all that much about..

An old acquaintance of ours sent us a 4 page (mass produced) letter.. I guess we are supposed to be overjoyed that their 4 offspring have produced TWENTY-TWO grandchildren for them.. Their "baby" has just had her SEVENTH child..

I guess they took the "be fruitful and multiply" part seriously :eyes:

3. I gotta speak up in defense of the ones my brother and his fam send
They are consistently funny and have stuff in there that I didn't catch during the year.

7. Oh I cant stand those...
Oh.. Sally had gonnorhea for the 6th time this year, Sammy fell off his bike and broke his leg in 3 pieces, my husband Dan was admitted into the Psych ward for psychological issues, and I started drinking like a fish - I go through 3 bottles of Vodka in a night, Jane had her 10th kid and is already pregnant again with #11 - the youngest is 1 month old.

Whatever happened to just sending pictures of the kids or a nice card? I dont give a shit what happened the whole bloody year - if you were that interested in telling me about your whole year, why dont you call or stop by more often?

LOL. I'm not jealous... I'd never write my year story.. No matter how exciting that year was.

9. You hate them because you've never seen mine
Case in point:

Samantha was scared at a relative’s home when her brother turned off the light in the room. Her cousin told her, “Don’t be scared. Jesus is always watching you.” To which Samantha replied, “That just creeps me out man!”

Our letter is out to make folks fall out of their chairs -- laughing or with a heart attack, makes no difference to us. ;)

10. I love the annual holiday letter
I send mine out and I enjoy reading all the ones I get. I wish I had the time to call on the friends and family that I love, but with work, my immediate family and all the activity these produce, I never have time to catch up with people. The letters do that. I love them and hope its a form of communication that never dies out.
