1. I am and my aunt is having some trouble sleeping too.
She's tossing and turning, which isn't easy for someone who is quadreplegic. She's having a rough night, poor thing. I wish I could make her well, or at least take away some of her pain... brb.

2. I'm sorry to hear that.
My mom's going through some of that, too. Dad says that she often cries in her sleep, from all the pain. That just ain't right - or fair. :(

6. Well, I did attempt to take away some of her pain.
Not the real pain but a cause of it tonight. Apparently, Domino decided to run at full speed and greet her when she heard her turning over. Well, she is clumsy because of her size for a cat (due to asthma meds) and slammed into my aunt a little harder than I am sure she meant. I tried to call her in here with me so she would leave my aunt alone. So that's one reason my aunt's having trouble sleeping tonight. The other I did take care of for her. Maybe Dommie will come in here with me if I go talk to her some more. I tried.

15. I may be better off using catnip with her.
She turns down most food, except Arby's roast beef. She likes that, but for some reason she won't take anything else. I guess her sense of smell is off due to the asthma. I'll try catnip. Thanks for the great suggestion though. If it was Sunday Girl or Yogi, just about any food would work.

5. It passed
I ventured into GD and read this thread http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x5691988

That sure cast a cloud over my mood.

I feel all icky inside after that.

Is there some kind of mood hanging about the place today? I've been feeling really good, but everyone else seems to be really down.

Like Forrest Gump, California Peggy, et. al. But now most of the people seem to be down. I was really up until I went over to GD, darn it all.

17. Yeah - it feels like an emotional enema took place.
It could also be the post-Christmas blues.
Or pre-New Year's, review your life and cry, blues.

I hate those things. Makes everyone fuckin' neurotic at times.

20. I've actually been erratic for days
Sort of mixed-state/hypomanic/mood-swingy anyway. I think it's a combination of the holidays plus the normal winter stuff.

Chocolate overload might also be adding to the chaos.

unless you're talking sugar crash.

So, Buffy - what do you do, that keeps you up at night? (I will avoid the expected Vampire joke.)

Too well, perhaps. I could not get out of bed today!

I have a quiet day planned. The only thing I need to do is drive home from my Mum's in order to return to work tomorrow. So long as the snow doesn't strand me here. :)

How are you?

Off to bed soon...big day tomorrow. I go to meet my new landlord and take over a new rental home. $200 a month cheaper than the one I am in now and more importantly no more kids in control of my life!!! Maybe...just maybe, Christmas will turn out alright for me after all!

23. Thanks Padre
I am excited by all but the move... Got help coming for that. Friends are special. I will be up for a few more minutes. I need to see why snow falls the wrong way over in England first. (Note B-Skanks thread).
BTW you seem to be a member in good standing in the Big DU Army so the name "Padre" fits....unless you find it objectionable. It means that you are an officer...a status worthy of a little more recognition than us lowly grunts, imo.

30. Always was fond of that word...
does not seem very feminine though. Padre also sounds Spanish for "Father" and "Madre" I think means "Mother". Wikepedia does not address the gender issue so I guess it may be OK. Lastly you are very special in this lounge imo, so getting that little extra respect reserved for officers comes with the territory.
:toast:
With that I really am off to bed. Good night to you Rev. C

24. Anyone still awake?
it depends on consciousness
are we awake or only sleeping Lennon

When I wake up early in the morning,
Lift my head, I'm still yawning
When I'm in the middle of a dream
Stay in bed, float up stream

Please don't wake me, no
don't shake me
Leave me where I am
I'm only sleeping

Everybody seems to think I'm lazy
I don't mind, I think they're crazy
Running everywhere at such a speed
Till they find, there's no need

Please don't spoil my day
I'm miles away
And after all
I'm only sleeping

Keeping an eye on the world going by my window
Taking my time

Lying there and staring at the ceiling
Waiting for a sleepy feeling

Please don't spoil my day
I'm miles away
And after all
I'm only sleeping

Keeping an eye on the world going by my window
Taking my time

When I wake up early in the morning,
Lift my head, I'm still yawning
When I'm in the middle of a dream
Stay in bed, float up stream

Please don't wake me, no
don't shake me
Leave me where I am
I'm only sleeping

:) At least they make that sound before it comes up. Now she's sitting next to me like nothing happened.

The new house won't have a laundry chute, but the laundry room is pretty close. That'll have to do.:)

For today's Haiku:

Stomach is churning.
Those little balls of wet fur
Must come up daily.

Never, ever, EVER read a book right before you want to sleep. Especially if that book is addicting.

It is just awful being sick anytime, but during the holidays makes any illness, no matter how trivial, much worse!

Glad your day is off to a good start!

But I'll be back later......

You have a great day, my dear!
