Circuit breaker buzzes when I run space heater.
I have a small ceramic space heater and it makes the circuit breaker buzz. It doesn't
kick it off. Is this ok?

1. Check the wattage on the space heater
then check the wattage on the circuit breaker. If the wattage of your heater + everything else on that circuit is less than your breaker, you're OK.
Most household lines are rated for either 10 amps or 15 amps, which at 110 volts is about 1100 or 1600 watts. (If im doing the math right!!)

2. Only fools
would get into this.

Having said that.

Sounds as though the breaker may have been tripped too many times in the past and should be replaced with a new breaker of the same type and amperage rating.

Or your space heater is operating close to the rated amperage of the breaker-unlikely.

What is the amperage of the breaker in question?

This is serious business. If in doubt invest in an electrician. Really.

3. Those things are amp hogs
seriously.

When I use to work nightshift, the floor where I work was especially cold at nights because of all the servers located on the floor. We would be freezing.

So we all brought in space heaters so we could keep warm at our desks (along with blankets - it was really bad!). It was ok when just 1 or 2 was running but as soon as the third one started we lost all power in our area (cubicle haven).

So this is not abnormal - check the amps.

4. It's probably going bad
Did you turn it off then on again? That might help it stop buzzing. What else is on the circuit?

5. My space heater kicks off my circuit breaker.
I have to plug it into the washer and dryer outlet.
