1. This could all be avoided if people would just call it what it is.
Is it Pepsi? RC? Coke? Call it Pepsi. RC. Coke.

Sheesh!

7. It creeps me out when people say "soda" or "pop." It's like
they ain't even real people. I think we just round up all them weirdos that say those words and put them in camps over in Cuba or Alaska or some island like that until they learn to think right!

8. Coke spends $1 Billion on advertising every year, so does Pepsi
When I am ordering a "soft drink" I say "Coke" and the kid at the register sometimes says to me "Is Pepsi okay?" and I say "Yeah whatever"

11. Pop, of course
But I'll even tolerate soda.

Coke, however, is dumb. It's a company name. I don't call all cars "toyotas" or all computers "IBM's"

17. Don't drink any of them
But if you're looking for names, I would definitely use pop or just call it a soft-drink.

Coke is coke and means the brand-name cola produced by the Coca-Cola company.

Soda means soda water (sometimes called club soda).

People who say 'Pop' sound like 5 year olds, and people who say 'Soda' are pretentious.

31. In the South, every soft drink can be referred to as a Coke or a cola
as in I'm gonna have an RC Cola and a Moopnpie for lunch. Those of us who are native Southerners never say pop or soda. The term soft drink is used.

Tonic=any carbonated beverage.

"Pop" is a verb and "soda" comes in a yellow "Arm & Hammer" box.

Geez, people.
