Post more quotes!
I love good quotes. Post your favorites here.

Right now I'm on a Truman kick again. Here's mine:

"When even one American - who has done nothing wrong - is forced by fear to shut his mind and close his mouth - then all Americans are in peril."-Harry Truman

1. I found this one today
And I like it:

"Nothing will ever be attempted, if all possible objections must first be overcome."

-- Samuel Johnson

I'm keeping it in reserve for the next all-staff meeting; we have a lot of change-haters.

4. Harry Truman on Nixon
"Richard Nixon is a no good, lying bastard. He can lie out of both sides of his mouth at the same time, and if he ever caught himself telling the truth, he'd lie just to keep his hand in."

Imagine what Harry would have to say about Bush.

7. He would have nailed Bush.
But I don't think MO would have gone for Bush if Harry were still alive. He would have talked some sense into the voters.

5. Nice quote. Here a couple of my favorites
The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naïve and usually idiotic. He is, more likely, one who likes his country more than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when he sees it debauched. He is not a bad citizen turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair."
~ H. L. Mencken

One of the sanest, surest, and most generous joys of life comes from being happy over the good fortune of others.
~Robert Heinlein

“As people do better, they start voting like Republicans - unless they have too much education and vote Democratic, which proves there can be too much of a good thing”--Karl Rove

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."--Dwight D. Eisenhower, "The Chance for Peace" Address, April 16, 1953
