About that Phish show I saw last night...
Edited on Wed Dec-03-03 02:02 PM by WilliamPitt
12/02/03 The Fleet Center, Boston, MA

Set I:

Harry Hood (only third time ever opening with Hood)
Cavern
Birds of a Feather (good version)
Ya Mar
Horn
Piper (nicely evil version)
Anything But Me
Water in the Sky
Down With Disease (one of the sickest versions of this I've ever seen or heard)

Set II:
Rock and Roll (Velvet Underground one)> Weekapaug Groove> Tweezer Reprise> Frankenstein> Kung> Frankenstein (insane insane insane)
All of These Dreams (bleh)
The Wedge
Boogie On Reggae Woman> Cities (cool version with neat drop-in to Cities)
Maze (best. maze. ever.)
Waste (bleh)

Encore: Bug (decent, this song never changes)

Setbreak included a half hour video, consisting of footage of the band
progressing through the years. It began with extremely early footage of the band playing "Fluffhead" in what appears to be a dorm room, and ran through video of such famed shows as The Alladin Theater, the "Dog Log" show, Halloween 94 and 95, NYE 94-98, as well as several clips of Cypress and the reunion show.

The vid was the highlight. Solid show, not a face-melter, but damned good.

2. I really wonder what they're up to for tonight
It's the anniversary of their first show ever - perhaps something big is in waiting? The return of Gamehenge? Second Tweezerfest?

So far this tour they brought out the Dude of Life...so who knows....

4. I've been waiting for this report!
I caught the realtime setlist on their site and when I saw the Hood opener, I nearly cried I wanted to be there so bad. I'll be downloading this one as soon as it's up.

7. Not this year
They haven't done that since '98, when they did The Velvet Underground's Loaded.

23. They did that in '94
They did Quadrophenia in '95 and Remain in Light in '96. Loaded was the best of the four. If they do another, I think it should be Electric Ladyland. That would kick ass.

18. I'm addicted. I never knew that site existed.
They have the 12/2 show up already.

I love your DU name. My wife wrote her masters thesis on Absynthe in Art. I've been looking to try it for years, but have never been able to find any.

24 Dead, 1 Trey Band, 1 Garcia Band and 2 Further Fests

a.) Yes, but for 3-4 of the above mentioned. All others I drank a bit or went sober.
b.) Definitely not. The music is incredible no matter what you're on, if anything.
c.) No.

The lightmaster for Phish is Chris Korda. He is an evil genius. Best light-show in music today.
