For the first time since 2002... I'm under 200 pounds.
I was 210 in 2002... 230 in March 2005 (and a size 34 waise, I was technically "morbidly obese".)

Strattera helped over the summer of 2005 to rid me of 28 pounds... (it also altered my brain chemistry as anxiety-controlling drugs I'd once taken now have detrimental effects on me...)

But genuine exercise (weights lifting and a sufficient quantity of moving) and an overall proper diet now has me at 199. :woohoo:

Still have a long way to go to recover my pre-surgery strength level, however. And possibly longer to get rid of the belly, which is already diminished to an extent...

Damn right I'm proud. Not much to be proud for, but I've come back a long way.

And I hope it's not in vain.

5. You'd have to be about 5 foot 3 to be morbidly obese at 230.. but good job
losing the weight. Freakin' hard to do.

8. The last time I was over 200 pounds...
I was a size 38 and the pounds were morew evenly distributed.

I had gotten all that down to a size 30, 166 pounds... then it started to creep back up. And up... and up.

9. A 30 waist?
To my knowledge, that's rail thin.

My husband is 5'9" and weighs 165 and wears a 32-34, so I don't know where these numbers are coming from...

But kudos in any case!

10. I've been a 30 waist before
even a 29. The jeans I am wearing now may be a 30 waist.
That's not so rare.

11. Congrats! Finally some good news ...
on an otherwise dreary and depressing board for the last week. Continued progress toward your goal.

12. congratulations. A couple years ago
my husband managed to knock off about 45# (from about that 230 mark)by adding the cardio, weight lifting work and then really started dropping the pounds when he added swimming. He had been diagnosed with sleep apnea and began using the c-pap machine and gaine sooooo much energy. It's a lot of work, but think about the people who want to see you healthy for a good long time.
Good on you. You feel good too, don't you?
