Help! My Ipod ran out of batteries....
and I am in the midst of the most tedious task in the land. I need some tunes. Has anyone got any streaming audio recommendations on the web? My usual favorite, KEXP.org seems to be experiencing high traffic and it keeps breaking up. I am partial to an eclectic mix of rock, folk, electronic, hip hop, and so forth. My now recharging Ipod shuffle was spinning Gillian Welch, Lamb, Steve Earle, Tribe, the Arcade Fire, Beck, and a host of other goodies. What recommendations are you laying at my ears?

1. Well, my station for one
http://www.radioenigma.com

I'm doing my overnight show right now and although I lean alt-country on it (Fred Eaglesmith, Steve Earle, Richmond Fontaine, Uncle Tupelo), I play everything from Motorhead to Edith Piaf to Sinatra as well..

3. right on
Don't be afraid to load the Live365 player; it's not spyware, so don't worry about that. You can listen on winamp as well..

4. I'm being amazingly incompetent
I can't really figure out how to go about getting it to work -- a little window pops up with all sorts of buttons and text, I download something onto my desktop, and then nothing seems to happen. I don't have winamp. Do i need to sign up with Live365?

Thanks!

5. Go here
http://www.live365.com/stations/charles101

Click n the yellow button w/ the speaker; if you have a pop-up stopper, disable it and let the Live365 player load until you get the player loaded, then turn it back on; that should do it..
