For DU'ers Only! My Dog Flip! His PIC from 30 years ago!
Edited on Tue Apr-04-06 03:45 AM by Whoa_Nelly
This is my dog, Flippy!

I just had 30+ old slides put on CD. This pic of Flip (we called him The Old Man) is the first time I've seen it in many, many years.

Flip was just about the coolest dog on earth. He lived to be 17.

2. He was! He adopted me when he was 10 years old

The family that owned him gave him to me. Flip and I met when I moved to Tucson in '70. He lived behind my house.

A real character...would bring presents, would steal things, then return them (like my Rolling Stones concert tix...brought'em back the day after the concert...), and would figure out which building I was in at school, and would wait for me to get out of class.

...and he was a party dog...loved to party and to take trips with me in my VW camper.

8. I got my childhood dog when I was almost 5 years old...
I had to put him to sleep when I was 21. It was like killing my brother. He and I had been through a lot together. He's been gone 25 years, and I still think about him everyday. His name was Inky.

11. Yes, Flip really was a very special dog :-)
At age 14 he could still jump up to the top rail of a wooden fence and vault himself over. He was an Airdale mix and very protective of me, especially the years I spent on the road wtih him while traveling and living in my VW camper.

RIP Flip

10. Awesome picture.
Remembering the animals we've loved is a wonderful thing. I've had two previous cats, and I often miss them both terribly. They were wonderful beasts.
