I rule with animals
My buddy can't figure out why his rescued cat will not connect with anyone (including him). I come over, and the cat and I are chillin' and he jumps on my lap and what not.
I lived in a boarding house with a mean dog once. This thing growled and snapped at everyone, but after a couple days we were best buds. The owner said she couldn't believe it, she'd never seen the dog buddy up with anyone before.

It's just me, I got a thing with animals, give me a couple minutes and I'll have a snarling dog on his stomach asking for a belly rub... a gift I suppose.

Enough bragging, it's late.

5. it's a nice gift to have...
I can do pretty well with most animals, too.

You could fashion a career out of being some sort of dog or cat or polar-bear whisperer! ;-)

6. Yeah, even ones I don't like hang out with me
Had a bird on my shoulder once, it kept landing there, I'm not a big fan of birds - them and their black soulless eyes creep me out.

7. Cats love me. Dogs are "ehh" toward me.
I think dogs sense I love cats much more.

8. My guess - you have alpha male stuff
You are calm and assertive with these dogs. You expect (on perhaps a subconscious level) that they will quickly be friendly with you. You project a certain confidence toward them. Dogs look for a pack leader and are aggressive themselves if they don't sense one (they fill the void). Often aggressive dogs are genetic followers who are uncomfortable assuming this leadership role and you let them out of it. The environment may also play a role as dogs will be more playful and less concerned about heirarchy in either their home or yours (compared to the street/outdoors).
