I am so freakin' out at another paypal nightmare!!!!
Damnit!!!! As if my work isn't at the height of inhumanely demanding, I am having to spend a ridiculous amount of time STOPPING additional paypal charges to my account. I've done everything I know to do: change ALL passwords (even to DU), enter a charge of unauthorized use form to paypal, copy every email (in the dozens) sent to me by paypal, call my bank and demand rejection of any paypal charges,....and I am still having trouble ending this insanity.

Anyone here have prior experience? Please, give me advice because,...I SERIOUSLY don't have hundreds upon hundreds of fraudulent charges to spare!!! I live paycheck to paycheck and am in an especially difficult financial period.

What else can I do?

Tell me.

4. No. I told them to stop any further paypal charges.
I don't have CCs, anymore,...just my BC. Would my bankers be too stupid to stop paypal charges against my BC backed on my account?

:grr:

I hope they're open tomorrow so maybe I can close and reopen, everything.

Thanks for the hug. You have no idea how distressing this is for me,...well, maybe you do since you offered the

9. Lizziegrace is correct
Bank's cannot stop payments that are authorized. You may not be authorizing them, but they can't tell if it is you or a fraudster initiating the payments. Once your account has been compromised you should close your account and open up a new one.

Make sure you officially file disputes with your bank for the charges you did not make. You have 60 days from the date the transaction appeared on your statement to take action if you want to gyarantee getting your money back. Do not delay.

2. I eliminated PayPal completely from my web site and I'm much happier now.
Last summer, they took $72 out of my checking account and denied to me that they did it. My bank verified that PayPal got the $72, but PayPal told me that the transaction never took place. Ever since then I have not trusted PayPal and in the last 6 months I have gradually eliminated PayPal from my web site, and I use Authorize.net as my credit card payment processor. I am sure I will never, ever add PayPal back onto my site because I don't trust PayPal, I think they are too vulnerable to fraud - even from within their own company. Read this web site for more horror stories:

5. Well, I have told them I am documenting EVERYTHING, having my attorney,...
,...prepare and affadavit and submitting this FRAUD to the appropriate authorities. I have printed out the on-line complaint I completed, every "weird" email, and the dozens of emails they are sending me telling me that they resolved my complaint and determined all transactions were legit!!!

I am just so,...pissed,...that,...I am crying!!! EWWWWW!!!!!

6. I also changed banks... I would recommend you do that too, and never
give PayPal any of your bank information, for any reason. Just have them mail you a check when you want to withdraw from your PayPal balance. But in the long run it's better to eliminate PayPal completely from the picture. No matter how much documentation, they are not going to respond or resolve anything. They think they are above everything, and even though they are doing a lot of the functions of a bank, they don't have to follow banking laws. In the long run it's better for you to get a merchant account at a bank, and process payments with them using a payment gateway such as Authorize.net or any of them. I believe PayPal is far too dangerous and leaves your money "exposed."

7. Before you close your PayPal account, delete all the bank account info
I have heard that they still retain your bank account info even after you formally close your PayPal account, so it's much better to delete the bank account info from your account and then close it.

3. How horrible for you!

What a mess! I wish I had advice

Your post reminded me that I want to close my account with them. Am having the balance transferred out, and once I have that, will close the account. If you close with a balance on your account, you forfeit any money there.

8. Definitely..
... close your bank account and open another one. Remember to re-route any legit direct-deposit or withdrawals accounts to the new acct number.

You'd think there would be a better way, but I don't think their is.

I had some numbnuts hitting my account every month for a small sum. I disputed the charge, they charged it back, but 3 months later the same douchebag was at it again under a different company name.

Why they don't just close HIS merchant account I'll never understand, but I had to close my cc acct and get a new one. Just a few crooks out there ruin it for everybody.
