Let's wholesale generalize about groups of college students
I've come to the painful realization that I don't like, in general, the people I've encountered in college who are English majors. I've most enjoyed the people in my art classes, and to a lesser extent the random mix I get in my required courses.

I've never met a sociology major I didn't like. Even if they are too granola for my taste, I still understand where they are coming from. History majors are usually fun, have a sense of humor and know interesting facts. And come to think of it, I've never met a biology major I didn't like, either. At the risk of being flamed,I've never met a business major with any redeeming personality traits or interesting quirks.

edit: bad spelling is a sign of creativity:blush:

21. My fraternity did a 'piano smash'
where we took an irrepairable piano, and charged people for the chance to take a swing with a sledgehammer. Great fundraiser (and stress reliever)

The theatre majors always did things like duct-taping themselves to the piano... and picketting with "Save the Piano" signs... and yelling from the balcony "Can't you hear its cries?!?!?"

Of course they didn't give a damn about the piano, and admitted it later... it became an understood thing.. it helped our publicity.

(not me, BTW)

Pianos, especially old ones, are tougher than you might think. Once we'd reduced it to rubble, we'd have a bonfire party.

18. College Republicans suck.
I base this on my own experience with many of them. A girl I knew brefly in high school is a president of the chapter here. Quite the intolerant militarist.

History majors can be annoying, especially those who are deliberately argumentative and attempt to outshine everyone else by their depth of knowledge. Incidentally, these people often have difficulties understanding issues with a scope wider than names and dates and biographies. You can know an awful lot and still be useless.

(Before you jump on me, I'm a history major)

29. People in the smaller departments were more easy going, more intellectual
The Geology, Russian, and Classics majors were always good people to talk to for those reasons. I think it was because they weren't following as typical of a path and they were used to having to be academically engaged in their major classes. You have to talk in class if there are only 5 other people there with you.

...are sitting in a bar, discussing if all odd numbers are prime. The physics major said "not all odd numbers are prime. 1,3,5,and 7 are prime, but 9 is not." The chemistry major said "all odd numbers are prime. 1,3,5, and 7 are prime. There are four data points indicating all odd numbers are primes. 9 is an experimental error." The biology major chimes in and says "all odd numbers are prime. 1 is prime, 3 is prime, 5 is prime, 7 is prime, 9 is prime..."
