Anyone Else Feeling Like They are on an Emotional Seesaw
Edited on Thu May-11-06 01:13 PM by Liberalynn
getting your hopes up about beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel for this country and the world, because of all the scandals that are being exposed, only to have it veiled again, because there isn't a strong enough outcry yet? I'm not giving up but just wish I had a better way to cope with how anxious, impatient and unsettled it all makes me feel.I want to be in that light already damn it. This is really getting to me today.

I am so in need of a hug right now, and an encouraging "it is going to be all right," so I am going to offer this to anyone who feels the need for it too :grouphug:

1. I do not expect anything until November
and I still am not optimistic about that. This is mid-May and I am not hearing from my local candidates yet - for Rep or for the Missouri senate seat. We gotta start early, but I am not seeing it. OTOH I am seeing Bush coming to Missouri to campaign and getting great press on it. Too many of their Senate seats look safe (Mt, Ms, Tx, Ut, Wy, Nv) and too many of ours look at risk (ND, NM, Mn, Fl, Ne) and it seems very hard to defeat incumbents in the house, except that it is always touch and go here whether we can keep Moore's seat. So I do not suffer the let downs caused by excessive optimism.
And here's a  4U.

I think you are right about the excessive optimism leading to, too big of a let down feeling. I have to learn to temper my emotions better too. I know it is going to take a huge effort, a huge vote, and a lot of patience.

Thanks for the

3. Journey's end? Not today.
But you never know. I gave up on hoping a long time ago. These days I just exist. Day in, day out, work life, home for tv, can't relate to people, they're freaked out by my "uniqueness". It's all good.

15. Usually the things I personally worry about happening don't
happen which is a really good thing, but it doesn't stop me from moving on to the next worry.

A vacation is a good idea. I don't currently drink but I wouldn't mind having a glass of red wine, on a beach, served to me by some hunky Aussie guy.

5. I rode the rollercoaster early on...
Couldn't take it anymore. The scandals kept getting bigger and bigger
and the lies larger and larger until I simply couldn't take it anymore.

Nothing was being done... It's as if we were being mocked. Thanks to
Mr. Dobbs for what he said today. I don't agree with some of his views,
but, he's the first one who's really voiced the cynicism and scorn we've
been experiencing from this Administration.

I moved here to the Lounge and I'm available whenever the powers-that-be
finally get their act together.

12. You can't get emotionally involved in this stuff

Just like in war, you can't take it personally that the other guy is trying to kill you.
