My daughter would have been 28 today...please talk to your kids and
anyone else you love about making sure they have a designated driver, especially with graduation party season upon us.
She left behind two young children, her fiance, two sisters, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, four grandparents, and the two saddest parents ever...
I miss her every single day, and pray that no other family ever gets the phone call in the middle of the night that every parent dreads.

PLEASE talk to your kids, your neighbor's kids, your nieces and nephews, your spouse, your friends...anyone you love...

And make sure the words you say to those loved ones are not words you would regret if the unthinkable happened. The last words Emmy and I ever exchanged were "I love you" and I thank God for that.

Alcohol and motor vehicles are a recipe for disaster.

Talk to your kids. Let them know it's because you love them SO MUCH and couldn't bear to lose them. Make a pledge that YOU won't ever drink and drive, or allow yourself to be driven by someone who is impaired.

Happy Birthday, my beautiful girl....

2. I'm sorry.
Very good message, though. Recommending, regardless. Maybe putting this in GD is a good idea, too.

12. So sorry for your loss
How heartbreaking for you and your family.

I told my kids when they were in high school that if they were ever impaired in any way, they should just call home and I would come and get them - no questions asked.

And I won't drink and drive, either.

13. I'm so sorry for your loss, grannylib.
I can't imagine the pain you go through.

My 26-year-old daughter is the designated driver for the parties at her base. I'm so proud of her for doing this and I'm sure she has saved countless lives. She even collects car keys when people come to her house and will only give them back if they haven't had anything to drink. Some people think she's silly, but I'm very glad she takes it so seriously.

Thank you for sharing such an important message on your daughter's birthday.:grouphug:
