It's not the worse thing that we have ever been exposed to. There is a Yin and Yang of everything and if this kind of stuff wasn't here for people to hate, it wouldn't make the things you like seem so superior. So see? We need stuff like American Idol, Lost, The West Wing, CSI...ect... to realize the better things in our lives. :)

and this is one rerality tv thing i just don't get. survivor had its crude appeal. a.i. is just a bunch of bad karoke versions of crap pop songs that my mom listened to in the 80s. as if brian adams and whitney houston couldn't get bad enough-let's have guys in silk shirts with soul patches warble 'em, while the spice girls' mager offers advice on 'talent'

It's funny because I watch the show, but I also own over 1,000 vinyl albums, well over that in CDs, countless cassettes and even some 8-tracks. I listen to and own everything from Elvis Presley to Elvis Costello, The Sons of the Pioneers to The Sex Pistols, country, rock, classical, jazz, blues, pop and everything in between.

I have found that the difference between a music lover and a music listener is that a lover loves music for the music, a listener likes music for what they they think is cool. Just sayin...

Btw, I have nothing against music listeners.

25. I watched it the first season..

... well about half of the first season. It seems that Americans really love to point and laugh at sad people who think they can sing.

And then when it gets to the end there is so much manipulation - it's not a contest at all, its just another scripted "reality" show.
