1. Hockey is never over.
In (seemingly) two months time it will start again.

4. The NBA season long ago got to the point
where it eats its own tail. The new season begins during the final round of the championships.

This is what happens when the only qualification for the playoffs is to finish the season.

I don't watch the regular season in either of these leagues. But the playoffs are awesome.

Besides, it kills time why we wait for the college football season.

6. HAHAHAHAHAHA ROFLOL
My hockey days ended with Eddie Mio, Ron Duguay, and the Maloney brothers 25 years ago before helmets were mandatory. For me, hockey lost the luster when the faces disappeared.

Regarding basketball, I never even played when I was a kid. I simply hate basketball. The biggest man with the strongest arm always wins (IMHO).

And yes, I hate Americkkka, I wish I could have the America of hope and promise I knew back for myself and my Daughter.

8. Cannot get into NHL playoffs
It has something to do with a high sun angle, no snow and 80 degree temps. I get into NCAA and WCHA playoffs in March becuase there is still snow on the ground at times and temps are in the 30's to 50's.

9. Yeah, but if the playoffs were any earlier
they would conflict with March Madness.

As it is, everything nicely dovetails:

- college football
- bowl season
- nfl playoffs
- college basketball and the ncaa tourney
- nba and nhl playoffs

Then a two month break (unless you are into golf, tennis or bicycling) and it begins anew with the college football season.

These two months (July and August) are the only acceptable months in which to schedule a wedding and expect people to attend. ;-)
