So they shoot human remains into outer space. People are even getting their bodies frozen for the future. How about a business that disposes of human remains by fossilizing them? Your body fossilized so that scientists thousands of years from now can find it. You could even have little dog tag messages to future archaeologists, like: "You've been digging around in this dirt for hours, do you mind washing your hands before you remove my cranium from my spinal column?" and "If they have found a cure for cancer by now could you please rush these remains to General Hospital so that I might have another chance at life?" or "I hope my skull is going to be used for real science and not just sit up on your book shelve as some sort of knick knack."

1. Fundies = we'll have been raptured by then
Evolutionists, or anyone with half a brain = we'll have destroyed the planet by then.

But it's amazing what people will pay for...

5. Jara sang hates me
I do have a human skull on my bookshelf, or rather my bedside table. (Same thing - every avalaible surface is a bookshelf.) Used to be on the bookshelf. And I look at it and think who was this person, what did they think, feel, who did they love, hate, who loved them? And I feel a connection to them. (Him or her, I don't know. Old but not archeologically valuable.)

(Same reason I wear one of those bracelets from the VietNam War - with the name of the soldier on it. He died. It was my Mom"s and I stold it. People deserve rememberance and respect, no matter how long ago. Although maybe a skull on the bedside table isn't most people's idea of respect.)

Is it useful? Probably not.

Khash,

9. Ok, that I have never done!
Pick it up and say "Alas, poor Yorick. I knew him, Horatio."

But don't tempt me :)

Khash.

7. One thing I heard a lot about lately: private mausoleums.
Was a feature story on BBC World Service. Basically pointing out that America takes things to exteremes, where people spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to house their family when they're dead. One cemetry started offering $250k private mausoleums and found out that some people though that was too cheap and wanted more.

Now that's definitely a dead-end business I want to be in!

Mark.

8. I can see the appeal of that.
If I had that kind of $$$, I would totally do it.

Heck, there's a company that will convert human remains into synthetic
diamond for their loved ones to wear- your idea is certainly no sillier than that.
