OMG, my 75-yr-old dad went off on Ann Coulter today!
I called Dad to wish him a Happy Father's Day, and we had a great conversation. Dad's a registered independent, and he has sometimes voted for questionable candidates, like GWB in 2000. However, he learned his lesson and voted for Kerry in 2004. He is so freaking furious with President Pissypants that he can't see straight....and he asked me today if I had ever heard of Ann Coulter. Of course, I had, and he proceeded to give me an earful about what a total nutjob she is and that she should be flogged publicly for making those remarks about the 9/11 widows. He called her "a tall, blonde Praying Mantis"! :applause: He went on for a long time about the terrible neocons (he ACTUALLY used the word "neocon"! YAY, DAD! :applause: ) and how they have trashed the country. He HATES Rush Limpballs, Bill O'Lielly, and friends, and it's the first time I've heard him THAT angry about the Repukes! GO, DAD!!!

1. My Dad's the same way.
Registered Independent, has no affinity to any politician, let alone a party. About 3 years ago was the first time I ever heard him willingly carry on a political discussion.

And now, if you even mention * in his presence, he practically foams at the mouth. I give him shit about getting so riled up about it when he "doesn't care about politics." But really, my dad hates * almost as much as I do...which is saying something.
