HELP!!! I have an expensve, addictive habit!!
I was shopping at my local Shop-Rite here in Delaware and the free sample lady had samples of POM Iced Teas (the people who make the Pomegranate Juice.

My god, these have to be the best bottled teas I have ever had. I'm drinking the Green Tea today and their White tea is absolutely divine.

Only problem - these things are like $3 a bottle (although the bottle it comes in could be reused as a drinking glass).

MAKE ME STOP THE INSANITY!!!

1. try boating...
"A boat is a hole in the water, surrounded by wood or fibreglass, into which the owner thereof throws large amounts of money."

2. Make your own
First, find a brand of tea you like.

Before you leave for work in the morning, put a bag of that tea into an empty bottle of expensive tea, fill it with water, and leave it on the windowsill so it gets the sunshine.

When you come home from work, pour over ice and enjoy.

(This isn't actually what I do-- I get loose tea, which is harder to administer. So I set up a jar with a strainer on top, put a teaspoonful of tea into the strainer, boil the water and pour it over the strainer so it covers all the tea. I steep for ten minutes, more or less, and get the ice cubes ready.)

5. have you considered taking up smoking?
it's by far the best of the expensive and addicting habits, and all the cool kids do it.

7. Hey, I'm certifiably cool and I have no reason to smoke
although I have a nasty hack and watery eyes from last night concerts because I went with a couple of smokers and figured I'd just put up with it for one night (they were friends of a friends and I didn't want to come across as some bitch). Fortunately the concert area itself is non-smoking

8. I think they put crack in those teas.
:P A good friend of mine also loves them, and she remarked about how expensive they were. She's convinced they put something addictive in them to make you buy them repeatedly. It's about like buying a small latte at Starbucks on a daily basis---it's expensive, but if it's a habit, you gotta have it.

I don't know what to tell you---but I can sympathize!

9. If you ever have dinner at my place your beverage glass will be
cleaned up Pom Tea classes. They're made in a way that they could be washed & reused. Hell I'm gonna put my $3 to good use with my new drinking glasses!

17. That's the best part about those teas...
I found them for $1.50 at the Fred Meyer here, so I picked up about a dozen of them. Replaced all my cracking IKEA glasses.

11. Go to a decent tea store....
...and learn how to brew tea yourself. You'll get much better quality tea at a lower price.

14. Check the sugar content
not sure about the teas. But the regular POM juices have more sugar than a couple of Cokes.

19. POM does animal testing
They're just about the only juice company that still does. "In order to make health claims about pomegranate juice, POM resorted to funding experiments that have involved inducing severe brain injuries in some mice and hardening of the arteries in others, among other cruel tests." http://getactive.peta.org/campaign/pom
