I'm not venturing out of the lounge today.
Very little sleep for 2 nights now. I'm a little slow and punchy. I don't think I could hold my own in GD today. (I mentioned this last night, and it hasn't changed today :( )

So you're all stuck with me. :P

So how are you doing today? What's going on that's fun or interesting?

3. Can I get it with soy milk and chocolate in it!
:7

I would LOVE some caffeine, but I don't care for the taste of coffee by itself. I know, it's positively unAmerican of me. :P

29. Please tell your kid
that I'm a kindred spirit. :)

I grew into a dairy alergy. Dairy was no problem when I was a kid but I haven't been able to tolerate even small amounts of dairy since my late teens. I have funny stories about EMTs telling smurf jokes because I was visibly blue while they rushed me to the hospital. Of course it's only funny now. It wasn't so funny when it happened.

Silk Soy Milk and Soy Delicious "icecream" rule!

34. He's never been able to have it
and did you know they add powdered milk to babyfood? I learned that as a result of his hives and projectile vomiting. Fun times, this parenthood gig.

His doc thinks he'll outgrow it, but in the meantime we go through tons of that Soy Delicious stuff.

35. The stuff they put in food for kids should be a crime.
It's amazing how hard it is to find simply, healthy food for kids, and how expensive it is.

I don't have any kids, but I babysit for friends. And because I like to shop I am a frequent shopping companion. I don't know how parents do it. Especially one friend of mine who is a single mom.

36. It's awful
He's allergic to dairy, eggs, and all sorts of nuts, so to find things he can eat we usually have to buy organics, and that gets expensive.

Oh yeah, and I watched Will & Grace and ate a tofu sandwich. Hmm...and chewed gum.

11. Hey, man. I'm very sorry to hear about that lack of sleep.
I hope you get some solid rest soon.

My status report: I'm taking the Pacific Time morning off to clean the house before friends from LA arrive. Tonight we're all going to go to dinner, go wander amongst 'em at the "Last Thursday" artwalk on Alberta, which will be an absolute fucking zoo tonight, then we're going to go hear another old friend perform some music at the Mississippi Avenue Pizza pub. Then I'm going to take tomorrow morning off and go get some breakfast with this crew.

I had better do the vacuuming now.

Take it easy.

Nothing much going on here. LeftyKid is playing with his remote control dinosaur (somebody around here got it for him for giftmas- he's so spoiled) and I'm still waking up and trying to decide what I want for breakfast.

26. Oh. Well soda is evil to begin with.
But I know other people who can't have caffine. It does bad stuff.

I crave it horribly when I'm in pain. I couldn't get through the day without it today. :(

And starch. Fried Potatoes! Now THAT is a breakfast. With peppers, onions and tomato. And some really good rye bread smeared with peanut butter. :9

Curried spinach and Chana Masala over rice. Yum. :)

Food is one of the best medicines. It not only keeps us healthy, it cheers us up too.

Do you think LeftyKid would let me play with the Dinosaur next? I'm tired of paperwork. I'd like to get down on the floor and play with some toys too.

42. I spent a good part of the night in GD last night.
Generally I don't go there, but I'm trying to divert myself from just becoming massively depressed.

Not wanting to be a rube, I was pretty obnoxious myself, just to keep in the GD spirit.

Here are my adventures: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x1740258
