Uranus is large, round and full of noxious gasses. Still, probing it takes a big instrument due to its distant location. In the past I was limited to an 8" instument (f/6 Dobsonian reflector) but it was not sufficient to penetrate all that space. This year I have upgraded to a 12.5" instrument (f/5) to have sufficient power to get a good look at this hidden globe.

5. 16 inches isn't too big?
It seems like it would be a little... unwieldy.
