Now here's a disgusting ad
The ads for PC4sure.com advertise that anyone who can "afford a payment of $35/week can afford a computer."

Let's see, $35 x 52 is $1820. How naive do you have to be to fall for that one? Obviously someone is that naive, because these ads have been running for months.

1. I'd go for it.
but I'd tell them to go pound sand after 20 weeks....

And what makes you think that's only for 52 weeks? I bet it's more like 36 months...

Ah, rent-to-own...Substandard crap for premium prices.

He thought it was great. Till I told him he payed 900 dollars for a Playstation that I got for 200.

I guess some people don't think further than next week.

2. Seen it!

The first time it came on my TV, I did the math in my head and got the same $1,820 total. And I said to myself, "I *wish* I could afford that much for a new computer!"

5. My mom fell for that with her Gateway
Why, it was only $19 a week....that's a great deal :not:

she got her Gateway nearly the same time that we got our Dell----about 4 or 5 years ago or so.

We paid a little over $1000 for our computer for EVERYTHING, including shipping. Paid for it upfront on the CC, and the balance for the computer was paid off that month.

Mom, on the otherhand, is STILL paying for her Gateway...>$19.99 a month...four years later.

See, ONE MONTH about 2 years ago, they got her payment 'late'--by one day. Because of that, her APR or whatever went through the roof and yar yar yar.....

She's paid more for that peice of shit computer that most people pay for a car. I keep telling her to NOT pay the monthly minimum or she's never going to get out of the interest...

Not to mention that her computer can NEVER be upgraded, lest she void her worthless warranty. The puter's totally infected with hundreds of viruses, but she can't do anything about it b/c 1)Gateway doesn't cover reformating the computer b/c of Viruses, and 2)She'd have to pay the whole amount due on the computer up front if they found out she had someone ELSE reformat the HD b/c of the virus.

So right now, she's paying $19.99 a week for a very heavy, very expensive, and very worthless paperweight.....

6. Florida is supposedly big on this type of stuff
A friend whose husband is a shyster car salesman went down there to open some type of car lot where they do deals like that. She told me Florida is rampant with such "propositions." Is that true, anyone?
