2. My friend was a writer for Seinfeld...
...and wrote the Festivus episode.

His father was somewhat of a crackpot and invented the holiday Festivus as an alternative to Christmas when he and his brothers were kids, so it's based on a true story. The stuff about the Festivus pole and the Feats of Strength was all his father's real-life wacked-out invention.
