I keep hearing about this alleged holiday, but I've no idea what it entails.

2. I believe it's Wiccan
I was just looking at my 2004 Peace Calendar that Working Assets sent me, and I saw that holiday and it's Wiccan. Either that or George Constanza invented it (according to Google)

In case you missed that episode of Seinfeld, Festivus is a holiday invented by George Costanza's father. It is celebrated on December 23 and involves such beloved traditions as the Airing of Grievances and the Feats of Strength. Instead of a tree, there's a pole so you won't be distracted by all that tinsel.

11. Hey, how come Working assets didn't send ME a calendar?
Now I'm gonna call and complain...

It would fit the spirit of Festivus (airing of grievances)

3. It's a made-up holiday from a Seinfeld episode.
George's dad made it up because he was tired of the commercialism of Christmas.

4. Do you watch Seinfeld???
The best holiday episode EVER in the history of TV.

If you haven't seen that episode (it's been on sydication a lot in the last few weeks) it's kinda hard to explain.

Basically, it's the anti-capitalism holiday that Frank Constanza started back in the 70's...

It involves a lot of weird stuff, like an aluminum pole, feats of strength, and an airing of grievences.

You really have to see the episode to understand

5. Anti-capitalism?
I saw the episode, I think it was anti-commericialization. Very funny too. George's dad makes him wrestle him.

10. "stop crying George and wrestle your father!"
