Whatever happened to David Steinberg?
Remember him? Canadian comedian who was the quintessence of "youth comedy" for the networks in the late 1960s--especially on ABC, which, I believe, gave him his own show. He was another comedian who was more conservative than he looked, like Mort Sahl and Dennis Miller. Now, I believe he's a movie director. But for someone who was ubiquitous in the late 1960s and early 1970s, he's nowhere.

He most recently directed a "Curb Your Enthusiasm" episode...

3. Didn't he marry Judy Disney?
She was a Jewess ... and he was the Jew-ee.

The guy was god-like. And then, nothing of him. Alas!

But ... how can you even put him, let along Mort Sahl, in the same sack of shit as Dennis Miller? Miller's even lost his sense of humor, and that started before he converted to Bushianity.

4. You're right. That's not fair.
Steinberg was actually funny. Maybe still is, even. I loved his professorial delivery. I've never liked Miller. Ever.

5. I never liked him
He always seemed like a thin skinned prick.
Certainly not in the same class as Hicks, Carlin or
Kinnison.

6. Half and half
I had a friend (still is but I haven't seen her in about 15 years) who worked with him a few times. Said he was a great guy, and she thought most comedians were putzelehs, even the women.

As for the thin-skinned persona, I always compared him to one of those little dogs who are so hyper that they vibrate. Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have about a dozen of them.

Nope, Steinberg wasn't in the same class as Hicks, Carlin, or Kinnison, but ya gotta remember, H, C, and K all started out as pretty straight stand-up comics. They "rebelled" in a really-for-real way that make poseurs like Miller weak in the knees. And the world was lucky that they all were around roughly in the same generation.
