Alright...I'm obsessed now. Rented the first five episodes and watched all five straight through.

Who's as sucked into this series as I am?

1. I just started watching it. It's awesome.

I'm through episode 8 now.

From what I understand the second season starts this winter.

5. It is outstanding

The best part about this is that it cost HBO and the BBC $100 million to do, and they really did it right. It is historically accurate, the characters have depth and substance. There is no question that HBO does the best work on television.

I especially enjoyed the Titus Pullo character, who had some great lines.

Caesar was very well portrayed and acted.

for no other reason than we had the POV of ordinary Romans. Agree on Caesar, right on the money.

15. I thought the series just sucked

The only character I liked was Pullo. He's just a loveable clod trying to do his best, and he's very loyal to his friends. Lucius Vorenus, while smart, also loyal, and unwilling to back down, ruins any kind of feelings I had for him because of the way he handles his family. Niobe is the only woman on the show who isn't a manipulative (insert word you can't use on DU).

By the last episode I was hoping they would all die, save Pullo.
