I've got a couple calls into local (Chicago subs) lawn guys but what do you think should be the cost for a small lot (30x60 in front and 30x60 in back)?
Scotts charged me about $50 to aerate plus about $100 to overseed. I can't believe I approved that-- they must have made it sound like it was $100 for the whole deal.

I feel like everyone is trying to bleed me lately.

5. sounds kind of high
but I do my own aerating and overseeding. I just go to Lowes and buy a couple bags of grass seed, maybe $40 total.

6. That would have been my plan, too.
This is the first year I've hired a service to do anything to my lawn. Time has been tight but I don't think I would have OK'd anything over $100 for aerating AND overseeding TOTAL.
