Back in civilization...(Please click and see my pictures!!)
Edited on Tue Oct-24-06 06:06 PM by YellowRubberDuckie
We're sitting in a hotel room in Tulsa, Oklahoma having some drinks. Here's a few pictures from the last couple of days just to kind of share with you how much fun we've had.

Here is a picture of what we called home for three days.

The view from our tent:

On the way to Hurricane River Cave:

Hurricane River cave: We met a really nice couple in there from Southern Arkansas. My camera died midway thru the trip down, and she got our address when we got out and is sending us a copy of the pictures. But here is one that we got:

ART!!

Us at the river:

I missed you guys! We're so glad to be back in the warmth!
Have a great Tuesday night!!

Lots of wildlife.
There were some very mischievous chipmunks hanging out in the woods just behind our tent. They were loud and hilarious. We had a lot of fun watching them. They were so cute. But everytime I got my camera ready, those little cuties disappeared.
I caught the behind of a raccoon last night when I was driving back up from the comfort station.
And I'm not even going to get started about the Daddy Long Legs spiders that scared the crap out of me everywhere I turned. Those bastards were EVERYWHERE!

9. Hurricane River Cave...
But they should have called it Indian River Cave. They found the 400 year old bones of a Native American Boy back in the late eighties, early nineties. They didn't find any remnants of a torch or anything near the body. And they're not sure how he died. They even found a sabertooth tiger down there. It had fallen into this pit and broke hit's hip. They found nearly every bone. Really interesting stuff.

But I'm sooo glad to be off the road for the night, and really am excited to get home.

16. Beautiful pictures, Duckie.
Makes me want to go back to Arkansas for a visit. I haven't been there in many years, but I still remember how beautiful it is.

17. Harrison was a little scary...
...along with this CitGo we stopped in to get ice, but the people at the park were nice.
But Good Lord have mercy...I'm so glad to be back in civilization.

19. Thanks.
I'm going to blow some of it up and frame them. The walls in our apartment are bare, and I'm hoping to spice it up with some color.

22. We really were...
But now more than ever. We stayed in a hotel last night, and will be leaving in about an hour to head home. I'm so glad to be headed home, even though I have to give up the most kick ass car I've ever driven.

26. Thanks so much!
I remarked to Skip earlier that I thought by the end of the trip we would have been getting on each others' nerves, but we've become much closer, which we never really thought was possible. I'm lucky!
