Post an obscure, but interesting fact about your town.
Mine has approximately 14,000 living, breathing residents.

And more than 550,000 dead ones. The other end of town from where I live is one cemetery after another...all old ones. The authorities know immediately from the election results if we vote early and vote often. This IS suburban Chicago, after all.

Bette Davis, Ralph Bellamy, Mickey Rooney, Maureen O'Sullivan and Robert Montgomery were stars in these movies.

Cool! :hi:

3. I'm 80% sure this is true
The transitional leader of the occupation forces in Baghdad after the fall (Paul Bremer - they called him the Administrator of the Coalition Provisional Authority) is the grandson of William Bremer, the man for which Bremerton (my home town) is named.

I read it locally around the time of the invasion and am not sure where to verify its accuracy. I've done a cursory search and find the two referenced together in several places, but can find no direct listing of their relationship.

Its not exactly something to be hip-skippy proud about, but it is obscure.

6. A clue to the Zodiac Killer is visible from nearly every street
in this town (and several others.) Mount Diablo, the largest peak in the East Bay/Contra Costa County area of San Francisco.

In one note, Zodiac wrote:
"The Mt. Diablo code concerns radians + # inches along the radians."

15. My town was mentioned as a big slave market center on an HBO documentary.
I was unaware of it at the time. After i did the research, located the spot of the slave market out of curiosity. Ironically the building and grounds that once sold all these slaves is now a church.
