I LOVE my NBC affiliate's news department. Why? Their lead story:
The death of Ed Bradley, 1941 - 2006 RIP.

They're journalists. They HAD to lead with that out of respect. There was no other way to go.

Second: Allen's concession.

Way to go, NBC4 -- WRC-TV, Washington DC

:woohoo:

1. I was watching the noon news when the story broke
I was watching a Philadelphia CBS affiliate and the anchor who was somewhat of a protege of Ed...he being from Philly and all seemed quite shaken up over the news. I nor they knew he was even sick

2. He kept working through the leukemia.
Our news didn't say anything about his treatment. I don't watch 60 Minutes very often, but whenever I do from now on, I'll find his absence very strange. :(

3. The last new story I saw him do was about the Duke rape case
which was a fascinating report...yep his presence will sorely be missed on that show

4. That is very classy of them.
It was clear that he wasn't as healthy as he'd been.

He gets my utmost respect for working through the illness.

Damn, another true journalist gone; there are precious few left and they are making even fewer ones.

5. NBC Nightly News and MSNBC are carrying it too.
I'm sure ABC and Fox are doing it too. What's the big deal? It's news. They're competing companies, not enemies.
