Someone in East Hartford, CT is defacing stop signs with anti-war messages

Over the past week or so, I've seen more than a dozen signs in East Hartford with "Bush" or "war" spray-painted under "stop." Whoever's doing it has created templates of the words "Bush" and "war," rather than just messily spray-painting his/her message on the stop signs. It's rather professional-looking, even if it qualifies as vandalism.

The last time I know of anyone doing that in this area was back around 1972, when somebody in neighboring Manchester, CT was spray-painting "Nixon" under "stop." This only furthers my conviction that we're living in a brand-new golden age of dissent, baby! :bounce: :toast: :party: :yourock:

1. ive seen a bunch of that...

when i visited New Orleans last feb before the war started, alot of it on 'do not enter' signs... with 'iraq' messily scrawled in spraypaint on the sign. made me smile kinda.

that and there was some of it locally lasting about a week a few months back. similar thing on stop signs.

However, my daughter and I like to cover Ann Coulter books with other books when we go to book stores, so if you ever have a tough time finding her books, I can claim one victoy.

13. Hmmm maybe instead of covering with other books

Replace the dustjacket from an insignificant book.

The other way would be to relocate her books to another section. Maybe sex. Fiction.

Otherwise turn the book so the back is facing front and then place another book in front of it.

I saw a few spray-painted messages like this on the sidewalks of Austin, TX this past summer. This was also created with some sort of template. I laughed my ass off when I saw it.

8. Here in DC

Hail to the Thief is big....Rove was in my neighborhood for July 4 this year, and someone had painted (using template) the sidewalks all over....made me chuckle something fierce, and still does 'cause it's still there, only faded.

I read it is jail for anyone who has Saddam picture up in Iraq. Things are getting hard line all over.Wasn't there a man who got to go to jail for a sigh Bush did not like?

perhaps, i could agrue about the internet being a prime source for "the golden age of dissent", but step away from the pipe, painting war and bush on stop signs ain't like writing "common sense" or the dec.of ind.
