My dog's nose itches--is that bad?
I know it itches because he told me so. Okay, not really. But I'm pretty sure that's what the problem is because he keeps rubbing his snout all over my couches, and sometimes he scratches his nose really hard. I'm pretty sure it's not his ears--he doesn't have any visible bugs in there or anything.

My nose is pretty itchy, too. It gets that way when I have a cold or I'm allergic to stuff. So maybe we're both allergic to something in here. Anyway, does anybody know anything about itchy dog noses?

I thought maybe your dog put his nose in your bum,
and it was itchy.

3. He got in a bunch of cow itch
or poison ivy?

Is he sneezing a lot? Maybe he's allergic to something.

4. Maybe.
We spent Christmas Day out on the farm. He definitely got into something because he was covered in cockleburrs. But we're in Minnesota, so I don't know if itch-making plants are out in the winter.

5. Is he rubbing the nose itself, or the whole snout?
If it's just the nose, look and see if it's dry and flaking. That's usually a B6-niacinamide lack, which can be fixed with just a little vitamin in the food.

If he's rubbing his whole snout, it could be anything from generally dry skin to something he snorted up this morning.

6. The whole snout.
He's been rubbing his whole head against the couch for a while now, but in the last few days he's really going at it with the snout. His nose isn't dry.

7. try the ears first.
my German shepherd does this when his inner ear is dirty. Get some vinegar and water and flush his ears.
