6. While I personally don't like the H2...

In fact, it's one of the most stupid vehicles on the road.

I really find this generic SUV hate-on to be a little tiresome and misguided.

One of those reactionary morons who wrote hate mail made a valid point:

"...Guess what, no matter what you drive you are contributing to emmisions..."

The culture of the personal automobile is what is destroying our environment and our communities. All you're doing in an H2 is accellerating the inevitable process.

We have two 4x4 trucks, and are occasionally jibed by anti SUV people.

The fact of the matter is that HOW a person uses his vehicle is a big factor in its impact on the environment. If you have an H2 and you carpool four co-workers/kids 20 miles a day in it, are you more of an environmental criminal than someone who jumps into his Civic everytime he wants to get a bag of doritos at the corner 7-11?

If you have a 15 year old car with shot catalytic converters, a disabled smog-pump, and a few leaks which slowly dump petrochemicals into the water table, don't you suck as well? Where's the hate-site for people like that?

I'm just playing dfevil's advocate here, but I realy hate to see such a generalist condemnation of a portion of the population, based on what they choose to drive.

9. I hear ya Amok

I think it's just an easy target. I say this as one of those haters. I'd give anything to see these people in an electric car or the http://aircar.com">Air Car or at LEAST a hybrid. I think the hatred is more directed at the attitude of the majority of SUV owners who believe, like one of those posters said, it's their "God given right" to drive a gas guzzler.

I don't hate any group of people, 'cept racists and gay bashers (which are the same to me) but to hate ALL SUV owners is silly. My gramps drives a Tahoe, but he is a carpet salesman and always has a ton of carpet in there. Could he have gotten by with a van or truck? Sure he could, but at least he's using it for utility purposes. On the other hand, my dad's co-worker drives an Excursion for "family vacations" which they have not taken in the 2 years they've owned it.

But i must admit I do like some of those SUV's particularly the Porsche and Infini models, they are however, more like sports cars.
