A Small Rant to Shoppers: Christmas is December 25. Every Year. No Exceptions. So, Dear

Shoppers, it is not my fault if you wait until December 22 to purchase a gift online or via our catalog division and cannot get the damn thing by Christmas Day!

I spent 8 1/2 hours today being polite to you when you fired off an angry e-mail after angry e-mail wondering where your precious gifts were. Every year some of you put things off until the last minute and then expect my colleagues and me to jump through hoops to appease you.

And, to be honest, some of you have lost your freaking minds. You want to order MONOGRAMMED items TODAY and have them delivered by December 25th??? Not gonna happen, sweet cheeks.

No, I cannot get a TurDucHen/Apple Pie/Coconut Cake/Barrel of Tamales/Green Bean Casserole to you by Monday. Yes, I know that I have ruined your Christmas dinner by denying you the pleasure of those delicacies, but the damn things needed to be ordered weeks ago.

And to the teenager who ordered something this morning and e-mailed me at noon wondering where the latest fashion fad was that she ordered: STFU!!! The ink was barely dry on the order invoice in the warehouse! Did you really expect we could get the stupid thing to you in a matter of 2 or 3 hours?
