I need your advice on an ethical dilemma I'm having right now:
Mrs R is upstairs in bed, and she (Mrs R) asked me earlier to bring the puppy up to her (Mrs R) when she (the puppy) got tired of playing and wanted to go to sleep. But now she (the puppy) is asleep in my lap, curled into a little black-and-brown ball, and snoring to beat the band. And she (the puppy) is keeping my lap AWFULLY warm.

So what do I do? Do I bring her (the puppy) upstairs to her (Mrs R) like I promised to, or do I enjoy having her (the puppy) in my lap for a while more, since she (Mrs R) is asleep and won't know that I didn't bring her (the puppy) upstairs to sleep with her (Mrs R)?

1. Can you bring Mrs. R. the puppy
and hold the kitten in your lap, or vice-versa? That way everybody gets something warm and fuzzy.

I should let others have the warm & fuzzies.

I can alway have another drink.

4. Puppy/Dog rules
When a puppy or dog is in your lap you are officially incapacitated. Its the rules. The dog rules all when in the lap.

7. If Mrs. R is asleep...
she won't know that you had that extra puppy love, will she? Besides, I don't see where you gave a timeframe for bringing the puppy to her. Enjoy your lap time, friend.

PS: Do NOT tell Mrs. R I said this.

13. I have a kitty sleeping in my lap.
If I were Mrs. R, I wouldn't mind you holding on to the puppy a little longer. I love a warm fuzzy in my lap, but a warm bed is great too. Pretty soon she'll have a lot of company...

17. It would be wrong to wake the puppy, she is so warm.
Besides, if you move her she will awaken and be ready to play again and will not sleep but disturb MrsR.

So let her sleep a bit, then when you are ready to stir, wake her, let her drink some water before bed and take her outside.

Then bring her inside to the warmth of MrsR & you.

Merry Christmas to you and yours! :loveya:

18. I'm nice and warm all over now, after reading your message. Of all the peachy
women here at DU, I do believe you may be the peachiest of all.

And even if not, you have the rest of them beat for courage. I'll bet you could have bailed after the storm, and lived better somewhere else, but you didn't. You stayed home.

And I hope you don't mind me saying that your courage in sticking to home, no matter the odds, has earned my undying respect.

You may feel that you're alone in that trailer tonight, but you're not. I am with you in my thoughts, as I believe many other DUers are as well.

And puppy's thinking of you as well. She's got her chin on the Powerbook, checking my spelling.

Merry Christmas Mehr.

your kind and loving messages always touch my heart more than you will ever know.

I'm not totally alone in my femansion, my 3 pups are at my feet and I had discussed with them how to handle the puppy relocation issue, they mainly snored in agreement. :)

Thank you my dear friend, thank you for all of your love and support. :pals:

I am just remembering a Dilbert cartoon where the Prince of Insufficient Light shows up and says 'I sense some morally dubious reasoning here.'
