The Fox Theatre's web site has a list of relatively near-by restaurants listed here -
http://www.foxtheatre.org/restaurants_hotels.htm But I've only heard about the restaurants I mention below.
There is a new pub about two blocks from the Fox directly on North Ave that I've heard good word about (damn it!). The Spotted Dog is built in the old 11th precinct firehouse on North Ave between W. Peachtree St. and Peachtree St., just east of the North Ave MARTA station. I read it's the usual pub foods and draft beers, if you're wanting filling unpretentious food before the show. We haven't had a chance to try it out yet though so I can't personally recommend it. It's owned and run by the guy who owns/runs other pubs in Buckhead like Rose & Crown and Fox & Hound....
Two places that friends and hubby's co-workers have said over the last couple of years that are good (wee bit pricey, but worth the $$$) -
If you're wanting more upscale fare, Veni Vedi Vici in Midtown is at 41 Fourteenth Street, about one mile north of the Fox. Part of the Buckhead Restaurant group, they offer traditional Italian food.

http://www.thepeasantrestaurants.com/If you're willing to venture into the downtown area, we recently tried the Brazilian steakhouse Fogao Gaucho. It's a carnivor's delight, with 18 different slowly barbequed meats served on large skewers presented at your table in rotations. There's also a salad and hot bar before the meat courses. Dinner was about $40 per person. They have a downtown location close to the Westin Peachtree at 84 Peachtree St.
