Restaurants where they sing to you.
Does *anyone* like it when the restaurant serving crew comes out and sings some sort of happy birthday song to you? From my experience, it seems like nobody likes it. I don't, the crew who has to sing the song doesn't ever appear to like it, the recipient of the song doesn't seem to like it. Somebody must think it's a good idea. Can anyone explain?

1. I only like it --> when it's not me.
I sure as hell avoid those places anywhere near my birthday. It's embarassing as hell.

One year though, my friends lied to the Olive Garden and said it was my birthday. They sang. Poorly.

2. I don't mind as long as it's not me.
We've been to places like that on my birthday, but MrSG knows he'd be sleeping in the yard if he subjected me to that.

3. Someone once dragged me to a restaurant with singing waiters and waitresses.
They put on some kind of stage show, plus sang as they served customers. I hated it. I went with a bunch of whacko's I was getting sober with. We all hated it.

5. We have an Italian restaurant in town where you need to audition.
Occasionally, a waiter will come into the room and sing a song, usually opera. No one is embarassed because it's not directed at anyone in particular. I like it.

6. I like it
when it's someone at the table I have targeted for humiliation being sung to.

My friend Matt sure turns a bright shade of beet red. :D

7. I think the only people who like it
are the ones who have set up their friends for this particular form of torture and humiliation.
