Thoughts, prayers, best wishes, positive vibes needed

I'm going in for dental surgery in a few hours. While it is nothing special –one or two tooth extractions and several root canals –I will be under general anaesthesia and, even though I’ve had this procedure done before, I’m still exceedingly nervous and not looking forward to the recovery process. Despite this, I need this surgery because I’ve been in agonizing pain from my teeth for a long time, sometimes to the point of being unable to function properly

It's only day surgery and I'll be home by evening. But I hate anasthesia and the after effects of surgery so I'm very tense and nervous today.

Any thoughts, prayers, positive vibes or whatever would be greatly appreciated –although I may not be able to respond because I have much I want to do before I undergo surgery. I’ll see you all soon hopefully

I've had at least 14 root canals done because of an undiagnosed nerve disorder.

It's normal to be anxious about something like that. Healthy fear over that sort of procedure is just your brain doing its job. Try to focus on how much better you will feel when your recovery is complete this ordeal is behind you, and you are finally free from this dental pain. And don't be afraid that you are afraid.

there's nothing more nerve-wracking than a visit to the dentist. Often, I get there and realize the worry was worse than than the visit itself but that doesn't stop it from happening again then next time.
