1. They seem like really fun shoes you can skate on, when appropriate.
Example #1: At home, in your driveway, anywhere safe that neither kiddo or property will be damaged. This would be an appropriate one.

Example #2: Careening down the center of an aisle at Target and bumping into people, or through traffic in a parking lot. This would be an inappropriate one.

2. Depends on which side of the generation gap you're building
your bridge. Kids think they're HUGE...my youngest wants a pair and his little friend down the street got a pair for Christmas. A kid wearing them ran into me in the mall a few months ago and nearly knocked me on my ass and caused me to form a few instant and probably less than well considered opinions on them. And those opinions were vastly different from my children's.

Go figger. Guess I'm just an old fuddy-duddy.

4. They are evil.
I'm sick of telling kids not to skate in the store. I'm sick of getting dirty looks from their alleged parents for it especially since they'd sue the store and any employee within if the little brats hurt themselves.

Back when I was a kid, if we wanted to skate, we either put skates on and went (gasp!) OUTSIDE or we went to the skating rink, paid a few bucks and our parents were glad to be rid of us for a few hours. We did not skate anywhere the mood struck us, because we knew perfectly well our parents would have killed us.

6. Dangerous, in my opinion.
I'll bet emergency rooms just love them.

10. I haven't encountered kids on these things in stores.......
Since the only store I regularly frequent is my grocery store.....

But I have seen the kids riding these on the sidewalks.

And I have to say that these heelys look like a ton of fun!

But that's outside, where kids should be playing!
