we could see Saturn 5 rockets launched from Kennedy. My grandparents lived a couple of hours south, and we'd visit them in the summer.

My dad was stationed at Edwards, so I saw the shuttle go up many times. I also got to see other maneuvers from airplanes over the years. My dad is in love with anything that goes vroom and voom.

Tallahassee in 2001 or 2. Shuttle was going back to the cape from its landing in CA, Jebbie got them to fly around the capitol bldg.

I'm in the landing path for MSP airport. At least they're usually decending, so it's quieter.

I should note that it's not a functioning shuttle. It's the Enterprise, the aerodynamic and equipment test bed for the rest of the shuttle fleet.

That picture must be 30 years old. Still has the 'worm' logo on the airliner.

I forget when it was but they flew it to DC and did a lap over the Beltway. I was on my way to my mom's house, I grew up with the Beltway in my backyard. I heard this REALLY loud noise and looked up to see it passing by. Incredible sight.
