Pit Bull.

named Roxy.

saw the wife out back with her last night. first chance I had to say hi. I asked what doggie's name was. Then what kind is she? (kinda dark out).

Pit Bull.

I ask if she was friendly. "To people" said the woman.

"She attacks other dogs."

:eyes:

she better keep that fucking gate locked up TIGHT

2. How does Remy get along with other dogs?
Maybe his legendary flatulence will keep Roxy away.

8. Is that Bobby Sands in your avatar?
I was at a Hibernians bar the other night, and there is the same picture ( I swear it is ) hanging up on their wall...he was an Irish hunger striker, right?

That sux.
Friend of ours has a pit.
Same thing.
Friendly to people, although I'm uneasy as hell around her.
Goes apeshit when she sees another dog.

7. Why do people own dogs who attack other dogs?
Edited on Wed Jan-31-07 05:40 PM by mycritters2
Seriously. There are so many breeds that wouldn't do this, why get one of these?

Hell, my beagle won't attack anything scarier than a bag of potato chips.

21. Ours does when he is with MrUP, but not when with me.
I'm the Queen dog and keep both of them in line. Dog has attacked other dogs when with Mr, I won't go for it. Of course this is MrUP's first dog and my 4th or so, but I don't go for that agression stuff. However, come to our door and he barks and is 95# of intimidation. Until the queen dog (me) says quiet.

23. It's not the breed. It's the specific dog.
You practically state it yourself, by stating that people own "dogs that attack other dogs" rather than stating people "own specific breeds of dogs that attack other dogs"

24. Is "pit bull" even a breed?
I thought "pit bull" was a rather loosely defined collection of breeds with shared physical characteristics.

25. There is a breed called the American Pit Bull Terrier.
For the most part, it's used to refer to any bully-type breed or mix thereof. Most people can't tell the difference between the breeds.

26. From your keyboard to God's ears.
You've hit it exactly. While "pit bull" normally means the American Staffordshire Terrier, the media et al have made it spread to almost any dog that has any bully breed in him/her. Fear works.

11. well, that was a stupid admission by the owner
d-u-m-b. Sure can't claim innocense if something happens.

On another thread flvegan mentioned something about homeowners insurance and it having an effect on aggressive dogs or something?

actually, I think it's vice versa.

dipping your dog in the sauce.

29. I don't see the problem. Don't wear your puppy suit
outside when you are *ahem* feeling frisky and it shouldn't be an issue. I mean, it's not like you have any love for Remi.

31. Remi is a cutie.
Our little dachshund is a bully dog. If she is on her leash and sees a dog who is 'infirm', really old, blind, three legged, she goes batshit.

The puppy has her totally cowed though. It's funny to watch them go at it.
